Experiments with code and fabrication on a Shima Seiki knitting machine. I wrote two utilities that generate knitout code (developed at the CMU Textiles Lab) using Processing and p5.js. Processing-to-Knitout converts the Processing canvas into a 1-color or 2-color knit pattern, and Knitout Grid is a pixel art tool that allows you to draw in the browser and download your design as a 2-color .knitout pattern.
