I am obsessed with Gifu lanterns, after being introduced via Isamu Noguchi’s Akari lamp series. After watching countless videos of them being made, making my own tiny one out of rose petals, and buying the IKEA version off ebay (they no longer produce them; they’re the only kind of limited edition I can afford), I decided to design them parametrically as an excuse to practice Grasshopper.
