Regarding Wool

2020
site visits, interviews, graphics
A story of the processing, supply chain, and lifecycle of wool to build consumer awareness of the implications of their choices. Even behind a material so humble and "old tech", are layers of entanglements between humans, land, and broader economic and cultural systems.
Research involved site visits (Harris Tweed, Scotland) and interviews with local experts in lambing, yarn production, and textile repair. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, I leveraged digital methods of research, including Google Street View and Sentiment Analysis of company statements, to create a uniquely intimate view of the supply chain and journey of wool.
